April General Membership Meeting: Economic Outlook in a Banking Perspective
“The Philippines is very fortunate because of its young, growing and English speaking population”, that was one of the lines delivered by renowned economist and educator Dr. Bernardo M. Villegas during the BMAP April GMM as he talked about Economic Outlook in a Banking Perspective. He said that the Philippine economy is reaching the tipping point as he shared information from The Wider World in 2050 Report of HSBC on the possibility of the Philippine economic growth rate of 7-10% in the next ten years; the result of over 25 years of slow and painful reforms; and the Philippines becoming the 16th largest economy in the year 2050.
Dr. Villegas also identified the weaknesses and challenges we have in our country and the Sunrise industries and Seven Key Industries.

For this month, Geodata Systems Technologies, Inc. was inducted as BMAP’s newest associate member. BMAP President Mr. Miguel Angelo Villa-Rea conducted the induction of Mr. John Ernest Caliwag and Mr. Adelbert Evangelista, Geodata official and alternate representatives, assisted by Ms. Ma. Carla Manalo, BMAP Membership Committee Chair.
